Frequently Asked Question
General
Compass Padel is an international amateur padel competition and licensing platform that helps local operators, clubs and partners create exciting padel experiences in their territory. Players compete locally for the chance to qualify for a memorable World Final weekend in Spain, while licence holders build a flexible annual competition calendar around their local market.
Compass Padel events are designed for amateur players. We welcome players of varying abilities, with categories and eligibility criteria established to ensure fair and enjoyable competition.
Yes. Padel clubs can take part through the official Compass Padel licence holder in their region or territory. Clubs may host leagues, qualifying events, knockouts or other locally approved formats, depending on how the licence holder structures the competition pathway.
Players qualify through the official Compass Padel competition pathway in their region or territory. This may be a league-and-final structure, a series of club tournaments, a regional knockout, or another format chosen by the licence holder. Each territory sends one male pair and one female pair to the World Final, with additional places potentially available by agreement.
The 2028 Compass Padel World Final will take place at Higuerón Resort, Málaga, from 23 March to 26 March 2028. The event is designed as a premium padel weekend, combining competition, coaching, hospitality, social events, official functions and the chance for players to represent their territory in Spain.
No. Compass Padel is built for amateur players who enjoy competitive, social and well-organised padel. The goal is not to create an “Olympics” for elite players. The goal is to give regular players a fun local competition pathway and the exciting possibility of qualifying for a special finals weekend in Spain.
A licence holder operates Compass Padel in an agreed region or territory. They work with clubs, players, sponsors and local partners to design and run the competition pathway in their territory. They are responsible for building participation, promoting events and selecting the male and female pairs who will represent the territory at the World Final.
No. Compass Padel is deliberately flexible. A licence holder may choose to run ranked club leagues, seeded knockouts and a regional final, or they may create a different structure that works better locally. For example, a territory could use seasonal tournaments, corporate leagues, festival weekends, sponsor-led events, academy partnerships or multiple qualifying pathways across the year.
Licence holders can generate revenue in several ways, including player entry fees, annual registrations, club tournaments, regional finals, sponsorship, merchandising, corporate events, premium player packages, partner commissions and sub-licensing where agreed. Licence holders are free to design a commercial model that suits their clubs, players, sponsors and territory.
The licence fee gives the licence holder the right to market, promote and operate Compass Padel competitions inside the agreed territory using the Compass Padel brand and supplied marketing materials. It also includes World Final participation for two pairs from the territory — one male pair and one female pair — along with the licence holder’s accommodation package, subject to the terms agreed for that territory.
The standard licence includes places for one male pair and one female pair. Additional World Final places may be available by agreement, which could allow a licence holder to create additional qualifying routes, premium packages or special event formats where there is sufficient demand.
Compass Padel provides brand and marketing assets, guidance on the use of the Compass Padel identity, practical support where required, sponsor-facing materials and exposure through Compass Padel’s digital channels. Enquiries from international Compass Padel channels can also be redirected to the relevant licence holder for follow-up.
No. Compass Padel is a licence agreement, not a traditional franchise. Licence holders receive rights to use the brand in their territory, but they retain flexibility over how they structure their business locally. There are no monthly returns, no commission on turnover and no percentage taken from sponsorship revenue, unless otherwise agreed in a specific commercial arrangement.
